    As mentioned above, start them out young. I tried, but my son had learning issues. It's taken a number of years, but he's finally getting it as an adult. Now if I could only get him to come visit me once in a while and clean for me. :rolleyes:

    It's always easier to do it yourself, but doing it together teaches life lessons, builds work ethic and the opportunity to spend quality time together!

  7. Admittedly they are not much help when they are little. Yes, things get done faster and easier without the help of little hands. They so want to help and do everything you do. Let them and do not criticize or redo their work in front of your little ones. Show, model the right way and they will learn. It is not about getting the job done perfectly, but being part of the team. If you do not let your 2, 3, 4, or 5-year-old help when they are 12, 15, 17 they will not want to. Start where you plan to go, Kids at your side.
